The standalone tool is always registered and returns the Tavily-shaped result set; the optional provider routes the official tool through Tavily while keeping the official result and card shape. A Plugins settings card offers a write-only TAVILY_API_KEY control backed by DSH credentials (stored via credentials.set, status via value-free credentials.describe, clear via credentials.unset; a blank key draft keeps the current value), a configured-status display, a backend switch and an official-path result cap, and per-call credential resolution means key changes apply without a restart. A value-free status route, /api/tavily-search-provider/status, reports provider and settings state.

Compatibility
Requires DeepSeek Harness 0.1.0-rc.6, Node.js ^22.19.0 || >=24, pnpm >= 10 and a Tavily API key. Version policy is adaptive by default: a copy whose installed version differs is still patched when every anchor matches uniquely, and skipped with a reason when anchors drifted; apply and restore are idempotent and never throw during boot.
