MySQL connections and guarded database tools for DeepSeek Harness: configure multiple connections once in Settings, pick one per conversation beside the composer, and let the agent inspect or query the selected database. Four tools (mysql_tables, mysql_query, mysql_execute, mysql_ddl) are read-only by default, with row-write and schema-change access as independent, separately acknowledged per-connection opt-ins.
dsh-mysql adds MySQL database access to DeepSeek Harness. It registers a Settings page for multiple named connections (host, port, user, password, default database, table scope, and independent row-write and schema-change permissions), a per-session connection picker beside the composer so changing one conversation does not switch another, and a per-turn runtime context snapshot describing the selected connection. Four agent tools are available under every preset with no preset edits: mysql_tables lists readable columns, types, nullability, keys and comments from information_schema before a query is written; mysql_query runs one read-only SELECT/SHOW/DESCRIBE/EXPLAIN with optional ? parameters, rejecting multi-statement SQL and returning up to 2,000 rows with a truncation flag and a 15-second execution-time hint; mysql_execute runs one INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE only with allowWrite: true; and mysql_ddl runs one CREATE/ALTER/DROP/RENAME/TRUNCATE only with the independent allowDdl: true opt-in, checking changed/deleted targets against the table allowlist and refusing account/privilege and database-level statements. Read-only by default, with each write tier requiring its own risk acknowledgement.
Install
dsh plugin --profile web add github:1321928757/dsh-mysql#v0.3.0Copied verbatim from the README's pinned GitHub install (#v0.3.0); the README also documents an npm form (dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-mysql) and local/tarball forms.
Compatibility
A profile bundle for DSH: connection settings and passwords stay in local DSH storage, and the browser only ever receives a safe connection view with hasPassword (never the stored password). The README notes that database schema and query results are sent to the LLM provider as ordinary tool output when the agent uses a database tool.
