lemoncat7/dsh-web-search

dsh-web-search provides configurable web access for DeepSeek Harness: administrators pick the backend (SearXNG, Wikipedia, Tavily, Brave or Gemini grounded search) for the native web_search and web_fetch tools, with a plugin-scoped proxy and security boundary that blocks loopback, private, link-local and reserved destinations and caps responses at 2 MiB.

dsh-web-search gives DeepSeek Harness configurable web access where administrators choose the search backend. Supported providers are SearXNG (self-hosted, keyless), Wikipedia (keyless, Simplified Chinese by default), Tavily, Brave Search and Gemini grounded search (Google Search grounding plus URL Context for queries containing a URL). Direct public-page retrieval uses the same plugin-scoped proxy and security boundary: web_fetch accepts credential-free public HTTP(S) URLs only and blocks loopback, private, link-local and reserved destinations, search JSON and fetched text are capped at 2 MiB, and search responses are schema-validated. A bundled loopback-only SearXNG compose file is included, and the settings card can probe general-purpose engines with bounded concurrency, rank them by latency and save a per-client engine selection with retries.

Install

dsh plugin --profile web add @lemoncat7/dsh-web-search

Copied verbatim from the README's Install block.

Compatibility

A DeepSeek Harness plugin that provides the native web_search and web_fetch tools plus a constrained web_source tool for verifying raw HTML markers under an explicit source procedure. The default backend is keyless Chinese Wikipedia so a fresh install can be verified immediately; providers are configured in Settings -> Plugins -> Web search and save without restarting DSH, and only the selected provider receives each query (no silent fan-out or quota spend on fallbacks).
