skepsun/dsh-engram

dsh-engram is minimalist long-term memory for DeepSeek Harness built to save tokens: zero-LLM intake captures meaningful events by pattern matching, a compact symbolic index is frozen per session for KV-cache reuse, and the agent drills down through recall tools instead of dumping raw hits into context.

dsh-engram is minimalist long-term memory for DeepSeek Harness with one goal: save tokens. Auto-capture records meaningful events from tool results by pure pattern matching (git milestones with a written -m message, edits to key files, repeated errors) plus an explicit engram_store, while silent plumbing like git push is never recorded; failing test runs are captured as error/test entries with a raised signal. A compact [ENGRAM] block (default 700-char budget) is injected at prompt assembly and frozen per session so the request prefix stays byte-stable for KV-cache reuse, and the agent drills down via engram_recall / engram_detail rather than dumping raw hits. Session-start auto-recall runs one deterministic BM25 recall keyed on the first user message when a new session first assembles, recall falls back to DSH's own cross-session full-text index on zero local hits (with a bounded substring scan for CJK queries), and a draft -> active -> stable lifecycle keeps memory promotion evidence-backed.

Install

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-engram

Copied verbatim from the README's verified install line; the README also documents the GitHub form dsh plugin --profile web add github:skepsun/dsh-engram.

Compatibility

Node >= 22.19; ships a host half and a browser half in one package. Zero-LLM intake means nothing on the hot path calls a model and there is no extra process or API key; every write passes through a deterministic secret redactor before the dedup hash, char cap and storage. Memory lives in a local corpus that survives reinstall or a machine move. English README with a Chinese translation.
