dsh-plugins/dsh-auxiliary
Dedicated model routes, tools, and system guidance for vision, compaction, reviews, subagents, titles, and image generation.
Adds auxiliary-model capabilities to DeepSeek Harness so expensive or specialized work gets its own cheap or capable model: vision understanding (inspect_image — read a local image and ask a vision model about it), image handoff so chat images survive a text-only main model (describe_image), a dedicated model for context compaction summaries (with an optional compression engine that replaces the compaction backend with an explicit compression prompt), an approval model for reviews from @dsh-plugin/dsh-approve-for-me, a dedicated subagent model, a session-title model, and an image-generation model for the generate_image tool through an OpenAI-compatible images API. Model capability marks and per-feature configuration live on the Models page under Auxiliary Models.
Install
dsh plugin --profile <PROFILE> add @dsh-plugin/dsh-auxiliaryREADME Installation section quoted verbatim (replace <PROFILE> with your profile). Registry-verified live 2026-09-15: @dsh-plugin/dsh-auxiliary latest 0.6.4, repository field github.com/dsh-plugins/dsh-auxiliary. Since 0.4.1 the package is a bundle plugin (declares dsh.bundle.patch), so dsh plugin add also appends it to dsh.profile.bundles automatically — no manual cordis.patch.yml insert needed. The README also names the GitHub source form github:dsh-plugins/dsh-auxiliary and file:<path> for local development.
Compatibility
Layers onto the harness LLM seam (ctx.llm) and never replaces the main conversation model — each feature is an independent, optional route you enable separately. Settings card needs the optional webServer service (it serves a loopback-local read-only JSON endpoint at /dsh-auxiliary/state and is absent on headless profiles). The approval-model feature pairs with @dsh-plugin/dsh-approve-for-me.

FAQ
- Does it replace my main conversation model?
- No — the README states it never replaces the main conversation model; each capability is an independent optional route that kicks in only for its own narrow call category.
- How do I install it?
- The README's command is dsh plugin --profile <PROFILE> add @dsh-plugin/dsh-auxiliary. Since 0.4.1 it is a bundle plugin, so the add command also appends it to dsh.profile.bundles with no manual patch-file edit.
- What does the approval model do?
- It gives reviews from @dsh-plugin/dsh-approve-for-me their own dedicated model, configured under Auxiliary Models → Approval model; the README notes the settings card detects whether that companion plugin is installed and disables editing when it is not.
