paul-yangmy/dsh-tavily-web-search

Tavily-backed web search provider plugin (bundle) for DeepSeek Harness (dsh)

dsh-tavily-web-search makes DSH's web_search return richer results through Tavily: not just a list of links, but a generated answer (as content) and structured citations carrying title / snippet / publishedAt. Once the plugin is loaded it automatically sets the web_search search provider to tavily, so you keep using the same tool. Optional settings under a web-search-tavily section in settings.yaml expose baseURL and apiKeyEnv; the API key is resolved per search and never bundled into the plugin or written into code.

Install

dsh plugin --profile web add github:paul-yangmy/dsh-tavily-web-search

Install the plugin into DSH's web profile from GitHub with the line above; if dsh web is running, restart it and refresh the page. The source is plain JavaScript so no build step is required. The README also documents a local-development form (dsh plugin --profile web add . from the repo root). Store the Tavily key in the DSH credentials service as TAVILY_API_KEY (a tvly- key). No registry package is claimed.

Compatibility

DeepSeek Harness web profile (replace web with your profile name if different). Requires a Tavily API key, resolved on every search from a literal apiKey, the credentials service, or the launching environment (the README recommends the credentials service; the key hot-reloads without a restart). If multiple search-provider plugins are installed, the last installed layer wins.

Details

Recent updates

The README documents the credential-resolution order (literal apiKey / credentials service / environment) with hot-reload, the optional web-search-tavily settings namespace, and the limitation that the last installed search-provider layer wins (override web.searchProvider in the profile's cordis.patch.yml to switch back). It also notes Tavily search_depth: "basic" is used and max_results is capped at 20.
