dsh-bing-search is a web-search MCP server for DeepSeek Harness, implemented in Python with curl_cffi, that gives DSH a resilient DuckDuckGo-first / locale-aware-Bing-fallback search path with quality scoring so agents skip junk. Search order: probe DuckDuckGo HTML and cache reachability ~60s (from mainland China the probe often fails unless a proxy is configured); use DDG when reachable; fall back to Bing when DDG is down, rate-limited (HTTP 202/challenge) or the result set is quality_label=poor; route Bing by language — Chinese/zh-* markets go to cn.bing.com, otherwise www.bing.com. Every search response carries structured results with quality labels. Registered tool names in DSH: mcpwebsearch, mcpwebsearch_images, mcpwebopen, mcpwebfind. The stdio MCP process does not hot-reload — recycle the MCP child after changing Python. An optional native dsh-image-audit companion plugin (search_and_audit_images) is a separate Cordis insert.
Install
uv tool install --force git+https://github.com/Biogod2020/dsh-bing-search.gitMulti-step install per README (EN primary with zh-CN edition): 1) Python 3.10+ required; uv tool install --force git+https://github.com/Biogod2020/dsh-bing-search.git and find the bin with uv tool dir --bin. 2) Add it to DSH through cordis.patch.yml using the required insert patch form — a bare - id: mcp-web entry patches existing IDs and can be silently skipped; the README's cordis.example.yml shows the exact insert block (id: mcp-web, name: '@deepseek-ai/dsh-mcp-client', transport stdio, absolute command path, serverName web). 3) Verify mcpwebsearch, mcpwebsearch_images, mcpwebopen and mcpwebfind are registered, then run one real search smoke test. INSTALL.md contains the deterministic install contract written for agents. Not on npm (Python uv tool).
