Bing-Bryan/dsh-unread-dot
macOS Dock badge and bubble chime: shows an unread badge on the Dock (dot while running, count when done) and plays a chime while the app is hidden; clears on return, built on the Badging API.
While DSH Web is hidden or unfocused, shows an unread red dot on the macOS Dock icon and plays a bubble chime when a session finishes or needs you; clears automatically when you return. Built entirely on the Chrome Badging API (navigator.setAppBadge / clearAppBadge) — no macOS system settings, no notification permission, no banners. Three states encode the status: a plain red dot (no number) while a session is still running; a red number +1 when a session finished or needs input (with a bubble chime, once per away period); auto-clear on return.

FAQ
- Why does nothing show on the Dock?
- The Badging API only works inside an installed PWA — install DSH Web as an app from Chrome first.
- Does it need macOS permissions?
- No — no system settings, no notification permission, no banners; just the Chrome Badging API.
- What do dot vs number mean?
- A plain red dot means a session is still running; a red number counts finished sessions or ones that need your input.
