perrylink/dsh-fast

Read-only performance diagnosis: session loading/restoration time, spill hit count, compression times and triggers, context injection volume (token proportion of AGENTS.md/skill/tool schema) and LLM cache hit rate, presented by /fast command and fast_report tool, asynchronous sampling does not block the model path; npm dsh-fast 0.1.3

Read-only performance diagnosis for a DSH session. It measures session load timing (publication-to-first-request latency, classified open versus restore, plus the restored seed-event count), spill-hit statistics for tool results spilled to session-scoped artifacts, compaction count and trigger (manual vs automatic pressure) with shadowed tokens, context-injection volume (system prompt, tool schemas, surface tokens with their shares), and the LLM cache hit rate aggregated from provider usage (input / cache-read / cache-write / output). It then emits threshold-driven optimization suggestions such as trimming skills, tightening tool schemas, compacting earlier, enabling prompt caching or the spill policy. Metrics fold O(1) per event and snapshot on a timer, never on the append path.

Install

dsh plugin --profile demo add dsh-fast

README-verbatim install (the README uses a scratch profile named demo — replace it with your own profile, e.g. web). npm package dsh-fast 0.2.11 (registry-verified 2026-09-10; registry repository field -> github.com/PerryLink/dsh-fast); a git form (github:YOUR_ORG/dsh-fast#<sha>) is also documented and adds an allowBuilds entry for dsh-fast on first add. Verify the row mounts with dsh --profile demo --dump-config | grep dsh-fast. Uninstall: dsh plugin --profile demo remove dsh-fast.

Compatibility

DeepSeek Harness dsh-v0.1.5-rc.1 (README adapted 2026-09-09). Read-only diagnostics: every contribution goes through ctx.effect() / ctx.on() / register(), so uninstall and hot reload are clean.

FAQ

How do I install dsh-fast?
Run: dsh plugin --profile <your-profile> add dsh-fast — the README example uses a scratch profile called demo, so substitute your own. npm is prebuilt; the git channel needs an allowBuilds entry for dsh-fast.
What does dsh-fast show me?
Session load/restore timing, spill-hit counts, compaction count and trigger, context-injection volume by bucket, and the LLM cache hit rate — plus optimization suggestions when thresholds are crossed.
Does the measurement slow the session down?
No. Metrics fold in O(1) per event and are snapshotted on a timer, so nothing runs on the append path.
