louisremi/dsh-always-on
Makes a containerised DSH usable when it has no access to your local file system: it replaces the dead 'show file location' and 'open in app' buttons with working Download file and Show files actions and an in-sidebar Monaco editor that saves back to the host.
@louisremi/dsh-always-on makes a containerised DSH enough to reach your files through the browser alone, where the stock 'show file location' and 'Open in app' buttons would have to reach a desktop that isn't there. It replaces those dead buttons with working actions: Download file buttons (on file cards under an agent reply, in the changed-files review tab, in a sidebar-preview toolbar and in a preview's empty state) that save a file to your computer; Show files, which opens the sidebar's Files tab; and Edit, which opens a text file in an in-sidebar Monaco editor and saves it back to the Harness host. Saving follows the session's sandbox mode (it fails in read-only mode and outside the workspace in workspace-write mode, exactly like the agent's own file tools), detects on-disk changes and refuses silent overwrites, preserves LF/CRLF and a leading UTF-8 BOM, and handles text files up to 1 MiB. It adds two authenticated routes, GET /api/download.file and POST /api/save.file, and registers its buttons in the same UI slots as the stock ones, shadowing them.
Install
dsh plugin --profile web add @louisremi/dsh-always-onCopied verbatim from the README's Install block. Use the name of the profile your Harness runs with; the plugin loads live (restart only if the command says so). A git-URL install runs prepare → npm run build, which a pnpm-managed profile may block via allowBuilds.
Compatibility
For running DSH in a Docker container where it has no access to your local file system. Nothing to configure. Monaco is not bundled (to keep the package ~69 kB) — the browser needs internet access to cdn.jsdelivr.net on first Edit, otherwise a plain <textarea> editor with the same save/conflict/dirty behaviour is used.
