Axern is an open-source sandbox platform for AI agents: untrusted agent-generated code runs behind a runsc isolation boundary while trusted long-lived services run on runc, all under one resource and lifecycle model. The CLI and Go/Python/TypeScript SDKs expose the same public APIs for environments, processes, files, services, storage, tunnels, lifecycle state, and task evidence. It is positioned as infrastructure for agent sandboxes, durable services, and reproducible agent execution via Axrun.
Install
brew install cofy-x/tap/axernHomebrew install, or the standalone checksummed installer (curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/cofy-x/axern/main/install.sh | sh). Then axern local up starts the full local stack (PostgreSQL, MinIO, control and node services) with Docker Compose v2 — no source checkout or language toolchains needed.
Compatibility
CLI plus Go, Python and TypeScript SDKs share the same public APIs. Local path needs only the axern CLI and Docker Compose v2. runsc isolates untrusted agent code; runc runs trusted long-lived services under one resource/lifecycle model.
