DeepSeek Harness macOS desktop app
Puts the standard DeepSeek Harness web surface in a native macOS window. It spawns the harness on an OS-assigned port, waits for the loopback URL to answer, loads it in an inset-titlebar BrowserWindow, and shuts the child down gracefully when the window closes; no alternate UI theme or presentation plugin is bundled, so the UI is the harness's own. The README documents the pinned-runtime preparation step, the DMG layout with the app icon and Applications link, and the fact that the packaged runtime prepends itself to PATH so plugin management stays on the harness home layout.
Install
npm install
npm run prepare:runtime
npm run check
npm run devREADME's Prerequisites and Development blocks quoted verbatim: the source package builds independently, npm run prepare:runtime downloads the pinned DeepSeek Harness and pnpm versions into .desktop-runtime/npm-runtime, and npm run dev launches the desktop app. Packaging uses npm run build:mac / npm run build:dmg into dist/, and the README notes the packaged runtime prepends its own runtime to PATH so dsh plugin management uses the normal harness home layout. Release check 2026-09-17: v0.1.0-rc.5 ships an ad-hoc signed DeepSeek.Harness-0.1.0-rc.5-arm64.dmg plus a sha256 file, so a prebuilt installer exists as an alternative to building from source.
Compatibility
README: an Electron shell that starts the standard dsh web --port 0 surface, waits for its loopback readiness URL and loads it in an inset-titlebar BrowserWindow; the main process owns the DSH child and waits for graceful shutdown before Electron exits. The macOS build produces ad-hoc signed arm64 artifacts, the child receives Electron's app.getPath('userData') as DSH_HOME so profiles, node_modules and dsh plugin management follow the normal harness home layout, and the README documents its limitations.

FAQ
- How do I run it from source?
- The README's steps are npm install, npm run prepare:runtime (downloads the pinned harness and pnpm runtime), npm run check, then npm run dev; npm run build:mac and npm run build:dmg produce the packaged app.
- Is there a prebuilt installer?
- Yes — release check on 2026-09-17 shows v0.1.0-rc.5 publishing an ad-hoc signed arm64 DMG (DeepSeek.Harness-0.1.0-rc.5-arm64.dmg) and a sha256 file.
- Where do my profiles and plugins live?
- Per the README the child process receives Electron's app.getPath('userData') as DSH_HOME, so profiles, node_modules and dsh plugin management use the normal harness home layout.
