dsh-desktop-plugin

A Windows desktop shell that turns an installed DeepSeek Harness into a double-clickable app without modifying the harness: it reuses a harness already serving on the port instead of spawning a second one, injects two small WebView2 scripts (theme sync so the window chrome follows the web app's light/dark theme, and a "close behavior" row inside the dsh web settings dialog offering Quit / Minimize to tray / Ask every time), asks on close by default with a remember-me checkbox (the tray menu's Quit always exits fully), and kills the whole server process tree on exit — including a dsh web --desktop hand-off — with spawned children in a kill-on-close job object so even a shell crash orphans nothing. It writes none of the user's data, only its own %LOCALAPPDATA%\DeepSeekHarness\shell.json and logs.

Install

⚠️ Install command not yet confirmed — check the README on GitHub for the exact command.

Compatibility

Windows (WPF shell, .NET 8 self-contained publish to win-x64). The shell launches an already-installed DeepSeek Harness (dsh on PATH) and, when none is present, shows an install tutorial with a one-click npm install -g @deepseek-ai/dsh button that runs only on user click. The README is published in Simplified Chinese, English and Traditional Chinese.

Recent updates

README documents the two-package layout (desktop-shell/ = the WPF shell, dsh-desktop/ = the npm package that mounts the desktop-launcher host row and ships the shell executable in bin/) and notes that the screenshots section is still a TODO placeholder in the repository.

FAQ

How do I install dsh-desktop-plugin?
The README publishes no one-line install command. It is a standalone workspace built with pnpm producing a self-contained DeepSeekHarness.Desktop.exe; verify the current instructions in the repository before installing.
Does it install DeepSeek Harness for me?
No — it launches an already-installed DSH from PATH. If none is found it shows an install tutorial with a one-click npm install -g @deepseek-ai/dsh button that only runs after a user click, and the README states it never downloads on its own.
What happens to running processes when I close the window?
Closing kills the whole server process tree (including a dsh web --desktop hand-off); children live in a kill-on-close job object, so even a shell crash leaves no orphan. The default close behavior can be Quit, Minimize to tray or Ask every time.
