alloevil/dsh-xray

dsh-xray is context-cost observability for DeepSeek Harness: an X-Ray tab beside Chat and Trajectory itemizes the per-request token tax of every mounted plugin - prompt sections, tool schemas, skills - down to the exact text, ranks plugins by cost and shows the dependency cascade that tells you whether disabling one is safe.

dsh-xray is context-cost observability for DeepSeek Harness: every mounted plugin quietly bills every LLM request through prompt sections, tool schemas and tokens, and the X-Ray tab itemizes that bill per plugin, per entry and down to the exact text. Unfolding a plugin shows what it registered, and clicking any entry shows the literal text it puts into every request with a characters/tokens ruler, so the number stops being an estimate you trust and becomes a fact you checked. When a plugin taxes every request and nothing depends on it, the deps view confirms the disable is safe, one patch line removes it and attribute verifies the change took effect - answering why a plugin is present, what breaks if you disable it and what it silently costs, questions that dsh --dump-config and the flat plugin panel do not.

Install

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-xray

Copied verbatim from the README's install line.

Compatibility

Adds an X-Ray tab beside Chat and Trajectory inside the running harness and itemizes each plugin's per-request context tax, so a number you would otherwise estimate becomes one you can check. Panels shown in the README are measured on a committed fixtures/runtime-basic snapshot, with the disable-cascade panel labelled as an illustrative author capture that no committed fixture reproduces.
