DSH file upload plug-in (web client plug-in)

Adds one upload button plus drag-and-drop file intake to the DSH web conversation. Clicking the composer upload icon (multi-select) or dragging files/folders anywhere into the window routes each item: images are archived to the attachment library by day and added to the official draft attachment rail (sent with automatic DeepSeek Files API file_id, reused per image), while any other file is archived to files/ and its path goes into the draft. Folders are read recursively and rebuilt under the attachment library with their original layout, with only the folder path inserted. Models without image support fall back to archive + path text instead of erroring.

Install

dsh plugin --profile web add "github:a903067276-rgb/dsh-file-upload#main"

README install (one line into the web profile), then restart dsh web (bundle layers are composed at startup); requires pnpm on PATH because dsh plugin forwards to pnpm. A manual mount fallback (symlink into ~/.dsh/profiles/web/node_modules/ plus a single entry in ~/.dsh/cordis.patch.yml) is documented. IMPORTANT — the README marks this project DISCONTINUED (2026-09-10): dsh 0.1.5-rc.1 ships a built-in attachment system that covers this plugin's core capability. Highest supported DSH version is 0.1.2 (last verified on 0.1.2-rc.1). Before upgrading to dsh 0.1.5 or newer you MUST disable/remove this plugin (remove it from dsh.profile.bundles in the profile's package.json) — together with 0.1.5's attachment system it breaks boot and the web app fails to start.

Compatibility

Highest supported DSH version: 0.1.2. On DSH 0.1.5+ the plugin must be removed before upgrading or the web app fails to start (README warning). Single-file limit 64 MB (DeepSeek Files API hard limit); DSH's local attachment store defaults to 20 MB, which can be raised to 64 MiB via the attachment-local config row.

Details

Recent updates

The README's final entry explains the discontinuation: dsh 0.1.5-rc.1's built-in attachment system covers attaching any file type with on-demand read-only-path reads, so the plugin is no longer maintained — for file attachments use the official feature (drag or paste files into the composer). It also documents the version table mapping DSH 0.1.0-rc.6 and older to the last release without the settings card.

I upgraded to dsh 0.1.5 and the web app will not start — what happened?
