Continual self-evolution plugin for DeepSeek Harness: versioned, auditable, rollback-safe harness state refine
dsh-continual-evolve is a versioned, auditable, rollback-safe harness state layer for DeepSeek Harness: prompt notes, memories, skills, and subagent specs refined from session trajectories. The model proposes, the code guarantees — every mechanical safety property (schema validation, atomic writes, snapshots, versioning, audit trail, acceptance decisions) is enforced in code, never by prompt discipline. Local scope is per session; global scope spans sessions with merge semantics and mechanical promotion guards so only portable, substantial, non-duplicate knowledge reaches global. Deterministic rollback generates inverse edits from applied results (no LLM re-guessing), and a benchmark loop scores candidate refinements against frozen cases by a separate scorer before acceptance (rubric encrypted at rest). In-session commands: /evolve, /evolve list|history|rollback, plan, wrapup, archive|unarchive|demote, failures, log, export|import, mount|unmount, goal, benchmark. Model tools: evolve_list/add/update/delete/rollback. Injection is capped and relevance-ranked (<=6/kind x 180 chars); empty store injects zero tokens.
Install
dsh plugin add dsh-continual-evolveFrom npm with dsh plugin add dsh-continual-evolve (installs and activates — ships its own bundle patch), or from source with dsh plugin add ZK-Andy/dsh-continual-evolve (first GitHub installs require approving the allowBuilds step). Restart dsh web after installing or updating.
Compatibility
DeepSeek Harness with npm/CLI plugin support (web or headless profile). Node ^22.19.0 || >=24.0.0. The README documents a plugin-owned JSONL log (5 MiB rotated) and an optional cheaper review model via reviewModel config.

Recent updates
The current README documents the sediment-guard-approve-apply loop, the promotion policy (POSIX path / session-id / ~/.dsh block patterns, 100-char minimum), the optional auto-review gate (turn-interval + compaction checkpoints), goal-driven round review, and hot-mounting executable skills as live plugins.
FAQ
- Does the plugin need human approval for global writes?
- Yes — requireGlobalApproval defaults to true; global edits ask for explicit approval, while the local-fate gate audits local entries and proposes promote/archive (consulted, never silent).
- How are rejected refinements handled?
- The benchmark loop scores candidates against frozen cases; rejected candidates roll back deterministically (autoRollbackOnReject defaults to true).
- What does the plugin inject into the system prompt?
- Prompt notes and delegation specs inject with content (up to 6 per kind, 180 chars each, relevance-ranked); memories and skills appear as a capped directory index. An empty store injects zero tokens.
