Memory is episodic, semantic and procedural with Hebbian strengthening and decay, stored locally on disk. An Amygdala module classifies emotional tone while mirror neurons model the user's mood and expertise, and every turn closes with a learning cycle where a dopamine system reinforces successful strategies and basal ganglia form habits. Four drives (social, cognitive, creative, mastery) plus a Vital Impulse let the agent proactively message you when it has a goal or insight, guarded by a minimum gap between proactive messages and a loop breaker. Circadian rhythm and Dream Mode consolidate memory overnight, an Attention Gate filters context by relevance, and Token Economy plus a thalamic gate skip cheap LLM calls for simple messages. In-chat commands like /brain status, /brain memory, /brain goals and /brain dream expose each subsystem, and 39 config flags let any module be disabled.
