volens keeps a project's documentation in step with its decisions: it maintains an append-only decision log (docs/DECISION-LOG.md), derives the design doc (docs/DESIGN.md) from it, and runs an append -> notice -> incremental sync loop inside DeepSeek Harness (and Claude Code / Codex) so the design snapshot stays permanently fresh with no manual upkeep.
volens keeps a project's documentation in step with its decisions, permanently fresh, from one setup per project. It maintains an append-only decision log (docs/DECISION-LOG.md) recording every design decision (Context -> Decision -> Consequences), derives the design doc (docs/DESIGN.md) from that log, and runs an append -> notice -> incremental sync loop: each time a decision is appended, the sync mechanism compares the log's line count against the docs/.volens-cursor cursor at the head of every turn, hands exactly the new lines to the agent as additional context, and the agent regenerates only the affected sections of the design doc. It also places a contract module in the project's instruction file (AGENTS.md on DSH, CLAUDE.md on Claude Code) between markers without touching anything else, records the documentation language once in .volens/lang, and requests a full rebuild when the log is rewritten or rolled back. Documents run /volens once in a project; it surveys what exists and never overwrites.

dsh plugin --profile web add volens-dshCopied verbatim from the README's 'Install in DSH' step 1; the README notes a bare add volens-dsh is fine for a first install but updates should use add volens-dsh@latest, and a specific version pins or rolls back.
Compatibility
The sync mechanism ships inside the plugin: on Claude Code and Codex it is a hook-registered shell script, while on DSH the same logic runs as JavaScript inside its own process at the head of every turn (no hook to trust). It reads only the DECISION-LOG line count, the cursor value, the DESIGN.md mtime and the language preference, and writes only docs/.volens-cursor. No network, no writes outside docs/, and no injection into subagent sessions. English and Chinese READMEs.
