Hosted free vision sidecar for DeepSeek Harness with durable session evidence
dsh-vision-sidecar gives text-only models in DeepSeek Harness hosted visual perception without replacing the reasoning model. When an undescribed image enters the session, the plugin sends it to a configurable vision API (default: LLM7.io's free anonymous route — no GPU, no account, no key required). The VLM output is committed as a real DSH session message, so it is durable, replayable, and not a hidden request-time rewrite. The reasoning model then continues from the verbatim VLM description.
Install
dsh plugin --profile web add github:121103qwq/dsh-vision-sidecar#v0.1.4GitHub source install at tag v0.1.4 (README-documented 2026-08-24; no npm package). Repository ships native ESM JavaScript — pnpm does not need permission to run a prepare build script. Default vision backend: LLM7.io anonymous default vision route — no API key, no account, no local GPU required for the documented anonymous allowance. Set LLM7_TOKEN for higher rate limits. Configure targetProvider and targetModel for the text reasoning model that receives VLM descriptions.
Compatibility
DeepSeek Harness 0.1.0-rc.6 or newer within the 0.1.x line; Node.js 22.19+ or 24+. Vision backend: LLM7.io anonymous route by default (no key needed); OpenAI-compatible vision APIs supported. Any DSH text provider and model as reasoning target.
